Sweet Mustard Dressing

The Sweet Mustard Dressing Story: One afternoon when my sister was attempting her raw food diet adventure, she had a craving for honey mustard dressing. After a bit of trail and error in the kitchen, we came up with this scrumptious homemade mustard dressing.

Sweet and Spicy Mustard Dressing

    Mayo:
  • 1 cup of 24 hour soaked almonds
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Italian seasoning blend
  • 3 large dates or 5 small ones
  • dash of cayenne pepper
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1-2 cups of flax or olive oil
Blend all ingredients, except oils, until smooth and creamy. Next add in oil.

    Mustard:
  • 1/2 cup of brown (these are spicy) or yellow mustard seeds, soak them for an hour.
  • 1/4 cup of raw coconut vinegar or raw apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 4 dates or more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
Blend and keep in the refrigerate for months.

To make dressing put mayo and 2-3 teaspoons of mustard or more to taste in blender and add 5-8 dates or 5-8 tablespoons of raw honey if you like. If you don't want to make the mustard just add mustard power to taste instead. Adding a teaspoon at a time and taste until desired sweet and spicy taste.
